Guys! Meet Africa’s Top 10 Oldest Serving Presidents + their Real Age

Often times we hear people say the youths are the leaders of tomorrow, but it appears that this cliche doesn’t apply to African politics as the continent boasts of several leaders who are above 70.
I came across this compilation and i decided to share, this is  the list of oldest serving African Presidents and their real age.

#10:. Jacob Zuma (Age: 73)
Jacob Zuma is the President of South Africa. He was born on 12 April 1942. He was sworn in as the president on 9 May 2009 after his party ANC won the national election.
The party retained the majority in the 2014 elections. Zuma was elected for a second term as president.

Ala$$ane Dramane Ouattara is the President of the Ivory Coast. He was born on 1 January 1942 and has been serving the nation as its president since 2011.
He was the prime minister of the nation from November 1990 to December 1993

Mutharika has worked globally in the field of international justice.

Ellen Johnson Sirleaf is the 24th and current President of Liberia, in office since 2006.
She served as Minister of Finance under President William Tolbert from 1979 until the 1980 coup d’état.

Manuel Pinto da Costa is a Santoméan economist and politician who served as the first President of São Tomé and Príncipe from 1975 to 1991.

Paul Biya is a Cameroonian politician who has been the President of Cameroon since 6 November 1982. A native of Cameroon’s south, Biya rose rapidly as a bureaucrat under President Ahmadou Ahidjo in the 1960s, serving as Secretary-General of the Presidency from 1968 to 1975 and then as Prime Minister of Cameroon from 1975 to 1982.
He succeeded Ahidjo as President upon the latter’s surprise resignation in 1982 and consolidated power in a 1983–1984 power struggle with his predecessor.

Robert Gabriel Mugabe is the current President of Zimbabwe, serving since 31 December 1987.
As one of the leaders of the rebel groups against white minority rule, he was elected as Prime Minister, head of government, in 1980, and served in that office until 1987, when he became the country’s first executive head of state. He has led the Zimbabwe African National Union – Patriotic Front (ZANU–PF) since 1975.
